Mindy (Cartwright) Rothfuss

Mindy (Cartwright) Rothfuss graduated from Point Park University in Pittsburgh with a BA in Dance Performance. She then began her professional performing career by being a featured entertainer on the Royal Viking Sea, cruising around the world and falling in love with show biz. After getting rid of her sea legs, Mindy spent the next few years in A Chorus Line, her favorite show ever. She made her Broadway debut as a featured actress in Jerome Robbins Broadway. She spent over a year in rehearsal working with Mr. Robbins ( he was really picky!) and dancing with many actors who have gone on to win Tony Awards. (She likes to think it is almost like winning a Tony award herself, sort of like almost being pregnant or dead) She has performed in an Equity musical in every state except Wyoming and Montana, opposite such stars as Joann Whorley, Tony Roberts, Terrence Mann and Faith Prince. She has assisted and danced with Tony winning choreographers Rob Ashford, Jerry Mitchell, Kathleen Marshall and Wayne Cilento. After retiring from performing, Mindy went behind the scenes as a Global Casting Director for Walt Disney World. She helped cast over 500 performers for the opening company of Tokyo Disney Seas, Disney Cruise Lines and Disneyland Paris. Mindy can also Stage Manage, Direct and Choreograph just about anything and most recently added Costume Design to her bag of tricks. She is honored and thankful to have been on staff at the MCA for over five years and is available for private lessons in all forms of dance, except crumping, belly and pole. Mindy is surrounded by a kooky circus style family consisting of one hubby (so far…) three children, two dogs, two cats and one chicken. Everything is true except for the chicken part. Everyone is either singing or dancing, except for the hubby, who is either laughing or crying. Now she will stop talking in third person. Thank you and plie!
